How to Export Google Maps Results to CSV and Google Sheets

Published

Google Maps has no export button. If you want business names, phone numbers and ratings in a spreadsheet, you either copy them by hand or use a tool. This guide shows the fastest clean way.

What you can export

Maps Lead Extractor can export business name, category, rating, number of reviews, address, phone, website, the Google Maps link and the search query you used. You choose which columns to include, and the CSV gets a titled header row.

Step 1: search on Google Maps

Search for what you need, for example "coffee shops in Dubai", and wait for the result list to load.

Step 2: pick fields and filters

Tick the fields you want. Add filters if you only need part of the list, such as a minimum rating, a range of review counts or only businesses with a website.

Step 3: scan, then export or copy

Press Scan and filter. When it finishes, press Export CSV to download a file, or Copy CSV to paste into a sheet. Pasting into Google Sheets keeps the header row bold and keeps each value in its own column.

Cleaner data by default

Sponsored listings and duplicates are skipped, icons are stripped from text, and phone numbers use one format across the file. Anything the listing does not show is written as null, so you can filter it out in one click instead of hunting for blank cells.

CSV or Copy: which one to use

Use Export CSV when you want a file to keep, share or import somewhere else. Use Copy CSV when you are going straight into Google Sheets or Excel: it keeps the header row bold and puts each value in its own column when you paste.

The export button downloads a file named after your search and the date, so lists from different searches do not overwrite each other.

Why some cells say null

A listing does not always show every field. A business may have no website or no phone number on Google Maps. Instead of leaving the cell blank, which breaks sorting and can shift columns when you paste, the extension writes null. In Sheets you can filter that value out or search and replace it with nothing.

Phone numbers in Sheets and Excel

Spreadsheets often turn phone numbers into plain numbers and drop the leading zero, or read a leading plus sign as the start of a formula. The extension writes phone numbers in one consistent format to avoid both problems. If you reformat the column yourself, set it to plain text first.

Importing the file into a CRM

Most CRMs match columns by header name. Open the CSV, rename the headers to the names your CRM expects, and import. Keep the Google Maps link column: it gives you a quick way to check a business before you contact it.

Tips for working in Sheets

Freeze the first row, then use Data, Create a filter to sort by reviews or filter out null values. If you plan to import the file into a CRM, check its required column names and rename the header cells to match.
